A visual reconstruction of everyday life in Syria before the anti-government protests
in Spring 2011. Syria is recorded here through personal memories and the enlarged evocation of encountered People, Places and Things.
No space for what is now reduced to wrecks: original photographs and blow-ups will help understand the scope of the ongoing absurd destruction.
10 SYRIAN BLOW-UPS
EXHIBITION @ PIOLA LIBRI, BRUXELLES
A site-specific photographic installation for Piola Libri, Bruxelles.
10 limited-edition photographic blow-ups hang from the bookshop’s ceiling, showing details from former Syrian daily life, to catch and invite readers and visitors’ eyes to observe details of Syrian People, Places and Things.

SHAMIYAT! People, Things and Places from Syria is designed for the hall of Teatro La Compagnia (Florence) where Middleastnow! Festival is held (April 4-9, 2017). Three videos exhibit Syria in the total absence of violence. People, Things and Places from Syria are captured in their normal and daily beauty, as they were experienceable until a few months before the ongoing destruction begins:
